Construction Tools

Designing and constructing your park has never been easier with a host of new and improved tools for terrain modification, environment decoration and modular building.

Paths

Paths are the backbone of site infrastructure. Most buildings will only become operational once they are connected to the Arrival Point through the path network. Use the Attach Point of a building to connect it to the wider path network and the route to the Arrival Point.

Toggle between curved or straight segments whilst building paths.

You can adjust the angle a curved segment of path will take from the existing path by first toggling to a straight segment, setting the angle, and then toggling back to curved mode.

Wider path types have increased capacity and should be used to both reduce Overcrowding in busy areas of the site, and to increase the overall Guest Capacity of the site.

Some paths can also be further customised to select their colour and pattern.

How To Place a Path

Create a network of paths to connect your guests and staff to facilities and attractions.

  1. Open the Paths menu.
  2. Select the type of path you would like to place.
  3. Toggle the width and curve of the path to match your preferences. You can also choose whether you want the path style to replace existing paths in your park with the Replace toggle. The style and colour of the path can also be customised to your preference. The Overcrowding View can be used to spot potential choke points in your paths.
    1. The Adjust Terrain option is on by default and automatically creates shallow ramps when placing your paths across uneven terrain. You can turn this off if you don't want terrain to change at all while you build paths.
  4. Place and connect path nodes to create a network of paths in your park. Buildings will need to be connected by a path to the park’s Arrival Point or a suitable form of transport in order to function.

Environment Tools

Untouched, natural terrain can be rough and difficult to build on. The Environmental Tools allow you to smooth or flatten these rough areas to make construction easier.

Create ramps up to raised areas of the site to make them accessible by guests, then use the Environment Tools to prepare and shape terrain so it meets dinosaur needs or matches site aesthetics.

You can also use the tools to paint terrain, including foliage, Paleo Plants, pastures, arid and barren environments, wetlands, and deep and shallow water bodies. The terrain tools allow you to create ramps, steep cliffs, and roughen, smooth or flatten terrain to create natural enclosures or interesting vistas.

How To Create Waterfalls

Create dynamic landscapes and enclosures in your park with Waterfalls.

  1. Open the Environment menu and select the Terrain brush.
  2. Create an elevated area using the Raise tool and then flatten it with the Flatten tool.
  3. Select the Shallow or Deep Water Brush in the Environment menu.
  4. Paint an area of water on the elevated terrain.
  5. Paint a body of water on the lower terrain close to the elevated body of water you’ve just created, adjusting until you’re happy with the waterfall flow and distribution.
    1. If your waterfall is not appearing, try reducing the heigh of the elevated body of water.

Nature brushes are contextual and will adapt to steep terrain and proximity to water. In addition to the material, nature brushes will also add environmental detail and will reform terrain accordingly.

Learn more about nature brushes and their effects on dinosaurs in our Enclosures Guide.

How To Use Environment Tools

Design and build the perfect environment for your dinosaurs to thrive.

  1. Open the Environment menu and select either Nature, Water, Feeder, Painting or Terrain.
  2. Nature
    1. Place trees, bushes and grass that provide different needs for your animals.
    2. Adjust the radius and intensity of this brush.
  3. Water
    1. Add or remove Shallow or Deep Water.
    2. Adjust the radius, intensity, slope and contour lines of this brush.
  4. Feeder
    1. Place a variety of Feeders for your animals.
    2. Toggle View Ranger Posts for clearer automation.
  5. Painting
    1. Adjust the appearance of your park’s landscape without affecting the Environment need.
    2. Adjust the radius and intensity of this brush.
  6. Terrain
    1. Mold and shape the terrain of your park with flatten, raise, lower, smooth, roughen and ramp tools.
    2. Adjust the radius, intensity, falloff, slope and contour lines of this brush.

Demolish Tools

You can use the Demolish Tool to delete individual items, or you can switch it to a brush mode in order to delete multiple items at once.

When using the brush mode of the Demolish Tool, you can adjust different filters to limit the types of item to be deleted.

How To Delete Objects

Clear the clutter or simply remove unwanted buildings and scenery quickly and easily.

  1. Select the object you’d like to delete.
  2. Select the Cog button in the info panel if applicable.
  3. Select Delete.
  4. Alternatively select the Demolish tool and paint over the item or items you want to delete.

Did You Know?

Path capacity can be increased by replacing existing paths with wider variants.

Editing Light Colours

Some decorations have lights with customisable colours. Recolour existing lights by selecting them with the Light Painter. Change the current colour to give newly placed lights a custom colour.

Complexity Meter

Complexity measures how complicated your site is in terms of detail and scenery.

Site Complexity will show on screen once you get close to 100%. If you want to always see your current Site Complexity limit in the pause menu, you can set this in the Gameplay Settings menu.

Grids

Building grid in Jurassic World Evolution 3

Grid props are scenery pieces that snap to a grid. They can be easily aligned with other grid props for rapid construction and grouped grid props use the same local grid.

You can filter the scenery menu to only show Grid Props when building. They are highlighted with a grid icon to further distinguish them. Adjust Grid Size and Grid Height to change the placement accuracy. Enable Auto Stacking to automatically adjust the height of a grid prop to place atop another grid prop.

Groups

Multi-Select lets you add or remove scenery and buildings to a temporary group. Once confirmed, this selection can be transformed in bulk.

Create Group saves the selected grouping for future use and the selection can be separated and adjusted with Split Group.

Did You Know?

If a building is in the way, use the Move tool to relocate it.

Advanced Tools

Use Advanced Move and Rotation to precisely place scenery by specifying the axis for the transform. Use the snap values to adjust placement accuracy.

Undo/Redo

When building, use Undo to roll back certain actions. After undoing an action, Redo can be used to repeat that action. Any money gained or lost by an action is also affected if you undo or redo that action.

Scenery Tools

Scenery items can be placed across the site and Blueprints to decorate your park. Some Scenery Items can provide Environmental Needs for dinosaurs and are shown with an icon in the menu.

Blueprints

Blueprints are either grouped objects or custom buildings that have been saved for future use.

Make your own building blueprints with Custom Layout when selecting a building type, or make your own scenery blueprints with Create Blueprint when multi-selecting scenery.

These can be uploaded to the Frontier Workshop for other players to enjoy. You can download their shared blueprints, too.

How To Create a Blueprint

Create blueprints to save your favourite designs and to share your builds with other Park Managers.

  1. Using the Multi-Select tool, highlight the objects and buildings you want to make into a blueprint.
  2. Confirm your selection.
  3. Select Make Blueprint, then Create New.
  4. Name and describe your blueprint, adding tags to make it easier to find.
  5. Select Create Blueprint to keep your design to yourself or Create and Upload to share it on the Frontier Workshop.

Did You Know?

Space around paths is reserved to make it easy to replace them with wider paths later on.

Structures and Modules

When creating a Custom Layout, the Structure of the building must be placed first. This determines the building type.

Modules may be required to create a functional building and must be placed close to the Structure. Adding Modules beyond the requirements of a building will not provide additional benefits.

Place Scenery as desired to decorate the Structure and any Modules.

Building Variants and the Frontier Workshop

Many buildings have visual variants you can use to add variety to your park. The building’s function remains the same, but the space they take up can be quite different.

The Workshop hosts a wide selection of custom building variants created by the Jurassic World Evolution 3 community.

How To Download a Blueprint

Find the perfect building or piece of scenery to bring your park to life in the Frontier Workshop.

  1. When selecting the appearance of some buildings you will be able to view and download Community Creations from the Workshop.
  2. There will be two spotlighted blueprints in the community creations panel, which you can choose to immediately download and preview in the game. You can select 'More on the Workshop' to browse more blueprints of the chosen building type.
