Park Managers’ Toolbox – Park Build Ideas

Welcome Park Managers,

There are many ways to build interesting parks in Jurassic World Evolution 3, whether you focus on specific terrain tools & biomes or recreate classic moments from the Jurassic World franchise.

To get you started we’ve put together some inspiration and ideas to help you choose where to begin!

Tectonic Terrain

Manipulate the terrain and carve your park out of the earth. Try creating a naturalistic park by adding towering mountains and steep valleys to the landscape. Use these tools to separate your dinosaurs & guests or utilise deep water and rocky terrain to prevent dinosaur escapes.

Tips

  • Make the most of all the environment tools. Dynamic Ramp and Roughen Terrain add a realistic feel to your parks landscape while the smoothing tools will make it easier to place paths and buildings.
  • Dinosaurs that are not semi-aquatic will not be able to cross deep water. This makes it a perfect natural barrier for containing your species without adding loads of fences!

Did You Know?

Use the different camera views to your advantage. Check out your park from a First Person View when building to see it from your guest's perspective!

From the Ground Up

Quickly build an entire park from scratch with blueprints! Wherever possible use custom designs from the Workshop for your core facilities, attractions and guest amenities.

There are so many impressive blueprints from the community, so you’ll be able to find the perfect custom design to fit your theme, from a Japanese Palace to a Tropical waterfall paradise.

Tips

  • Pick a theme before you start building. Jurassic World Evolution has a huge number of scenery items and community blueprints that can be used to create fantastic parks. Having a clear idea of what you want to build first will help keep your vision clear.
  • If you can’t find a blueprint that fits what you need for your park in the Workshop, be the first to build and upload it.

Throughout Time

There are species from all kinds of eras in Jurassic World Evolution 3... but what if you synthesised and bred species from a single period? Bring one specific era into your habitats such as the early Cretaceous or the late Jurassic, designing the ideal enclosures your generations of dinosaurs.

Tips

  • Use the in-game dinosaur viewer to select prehistoric animals for your park based on era.
  • Select a dinosaur and edit the environment from their info panel to make sure you use the foliage that works best for each species’ needs and preferences.

Realise the Original Vision

If the disastrous events of Jurassic Park never happened, what would the planned Japanese and European parks looked like? Make the original dream a reality by building a park in one of the potential Jurassic Park locations.

Tips

  • Add classic attractions like the Park Tour using the Jurassic Park trucks.
  • Make sure your park includes species from the original Jurassic Park like T. rex, Velociraptor and Dilophosaurus.
  • Switch On Jurassic Park Staff & Guests in Sandbox mode for extra realism.
  • Bonus: Use modular building tools to create classic areas of the original Jurassic Park, reimagined for their new locations.

You Might Not Know

On PC, scenery items can be scaled before you place them by holding B and moving forward & backwards to increase and decrease the size of the item. Stop holding B when you’re happy with the size of the scenery piece and place wherever you like!

On Console, open the build menu with Up on the d-pad and select a scenery piece, then use X/Square to select Advanced Move. Select Right on the d-pad to choose the Scale option then use the left stick to increase and decrease the size of the item.

Island Life

Jurassic World Evolution 3 Island Generator

Use Jurassic World Evolution 3’s Island Generator to create an island by setting the sliders at random points and work with what you’re given.

Make the most of the space and try to vary where you place the attractions and facilities for your park. For example, if a map with several smaller islands is generated, try portioning out your park by housing dangerous dinosaurs and research in one space and placing guests, attractions and amenities on another.

Tips

  • Connect areas of your island with transport like the Hyperloop or Monorail to link up isolated areas.
  • Your park Appeal is only generated from species your guests can see so if your randomly generated park has lots of smaller islands, attractions like the Balloon Tour will help you get the most of your dinosaurs.

Water World

Create a haven for aquatic and semi-aquatic species. Construct lagoons and land enclosures that give your dinosaurs room to wade and surface swim. Add water-based attractions for your guests that show off the very best of dinosaurs, like the Cretaceous Cruise and Lagoon Viewing Areas.

Tips

  • Give your guests the best view of your semi aquatic species with the Cretaceous Cruise.
  • Use the water tools to create interesting enclosures with waterfalls, shallow & deep water.
  • Customise the style of your lagoons with different scenery items, blending it in with the theme of your park.
