Hello DIN employees!

We’re back with another post in the ‘Get to know the Teams’ series, this time highlighting the amazing work our Paleo-Medical Team do at the Dinosaur Integration Network!

Let’s go through an average day of work with Barry from our Paleo-Medical Team.

“The responsibilities of the Paleo-Medical team are pretty simple, but what we do day to day is as varied as the species we take care of.

While out on our patrols in the Mobile Veterinary Unit, we make regular welfare checks on all our prehistoric species via medical scans. Any minor injuries, like a broken claw or diseases we’re already aware of, we can take care of ourselves within the dinosaur's enclosure. But it’s not always that simple!

We don’t always know what’s ailing our dinosaurs! In cases where a disease or ailment is spotted by the MVU, but we don't know the cause or cure, we’ll hand over to our very knowledgeable Scientists who work hard researching to find a cure. Once we know the solution to an ailment or illness, we can administer it to the species while we’re out on patrol in the MVU, meaning we can better care for our dinosaurs without disturbing them in their natural habitats too much. Although if a dinosaur has a major injury, they will need to be transported to the Paleo-medical Facility for more in-depth treatment.

It’s important that we work quickly when we find a dinosaur with a major injury or a disease; otherwise, we risk it getting worse or, in the case of diseases, spreading to others. Worst-case scenario injuries and illness can lead to death which is the last thing we want for these awe-inspiring animals.

Regular medical scans as well as the support from our Ranger and Capture Teams are key to our role in the Dinosaur Integration Network and keeping our dinosaurs healthy."
